FanSpace, our MySpace App Has Launched!

This morning we publicly launched FanSpace on MySpace. FanSpace enables fans to more easily discover, display and share artist and team widgets across MySpace, thus increasing exposure and driving ticket, music, ringtone and merchandise sales – see example screenshot at right. To see a live example, click here. FanSpace is a communications platform for bands and sports teams looking to engage fans on MySpace. Built specifically for the MySpace platform, FanSpace incorporates the best viral features of the platform to ensure that music fans can easily discover and share media and information-rich fan widgets, or gydgets, with their friends. When bands create a free gydget on Gydget.com and add it to their profile page it is automatically included in the FanSpace gallery for fan discovery. Fans can collect all their favorite band gydgets on FanSpace so they and their friends always have access to their favorite music, videos and tour news.  See the press release here.

New Homepage launched

We’re inching ever closer to launching our new MySpace application (watch this space) and to celebrate we’ve redesigned our home page and added a ‘Most Viewed’ section – fans can click a tile to grab a most viewed gydget and add it to their MySpace, Facebook or other site.

The gallery will continue to show ‘Most Grabbed’, which gives smaller bands, teams and other organizations a chance to be grabbed by fans. Oh, and gallery search is coming real soon too!

New wide gydget launches

Gydgets go wide!

Longtime users will know that we released gydget.com with the ability to quickly and easily build fan widgets in October 2007. These narrow gydgets (pronounced ‘gid-jets’) were great for the left-hand column in MySpace at 250 pixels wide x 385 tall.

Today we’re pleased to announce a new wide gydget (425 pixels wide x 350 tall) packed full of gydgety goodness and perfect for MySpace’s main column.

The wide and narrow gydgets are linked, so any content you add can be reflected in both. It’s up to you to decide which version you’d like to use (one or even both) and you can set the default size on the ‘Style’ tab once you login to gydget.com

To ‘upgrade’ from the narrow gydget to to the wide, just create bigger ad buttons on the ‘Buttons’ tab and upload a bigger image on the ‘Style’ tab. We’ve also added ‘TopFriends’ at the bottom of the wide gydget – a change for your fans to meet each other and show the love.
